According to the FBI, more than $6.9 billion was lost to cybercrime in 2021, and according to Accenture, cybersecurity attacks increased 31 percent from 2020 to 2021. That’s because cybercriminals have become more sophisticated and they’re finding more ways to exploit software and application vulnerabilities. Established security best practices are no longer enough to thwart them and security gaps have emerged, despite increasing concern about cybersecurity. It’s time for DevOps to catch up so they can meet the challenges of the modern threat landscape.
