CVE-2026-109619
Published:October 21, 2026
Updated:October 21, 2026
PHP workers keep global error, session, object and extension state that can point to memory owned by a previous request. A fatal error, including memory exhaustion, or a late diagnostic can leave that state in place when the request heap is freed. Operations that run before the next request is initialized, such as INI diagnostics or session upload progress, then use the stale pointer, causing heap use-after-free and remote code execution. Session upload progress is enabled by default and needs no session_start() call. Fixed in PHP 8.2.35, 8.3.36, 8.4.27 and 8.5.12. End-of-life branches receive no fix.
